For sale is a fully rebuilt rare Koetsu design – now in new condition - a Koetsu Urushi Gold cartridge, rebuilt by Peter Ledermann of Soundsmith fame. Peter is world renown for designing and manufacturing some of the world’s finest and most unique cartridges as owner and chief engineer of Soundsmith. He has also been rebuilding cartridges for more than 50 years, and has the best reputation around for doing that microscopic engineering work.

This unit has a new Boron (original material) cantilever and ultra-low mass Contact Line stylus as well as a new suspension and damping system, tuned by Mr. Lederman. He reports this full rebuilt design to retain the sweetness of a Koetsu, while allowing unimpeded fine detail, wide soundstage and no sibilance even on the most challenging of his test records. Like all of his work, it is fully warrantied against defect for a full year.  And yes, once you wear it out, he will rebuild it for you again and again.

  The GOLD version employs a Solid Boron cantilever and extremely low mass Contact Line stylus. It features an even lower internal moving mass than the normal Sussurro design. It is very fast and detailed without being harsh. Soundstage and depth are uniquely present and make for long listening sessions without fatigue.

As with everything we rebuild and offer, it carries a one year warranty against any manufacturing defect.

 This is a Sussurro Gold that was handmade by Peter Ledermann. It was made as a special model and used recently for 3 days at the Pacific Audio Show by Mike Kalellis of Arion Audio and has now been returned to us.
